History

A J Fish decorators was founded in 1976 by Arthur Fish working as a sole trader. As work load increased the number of employed decorators also started to increase.

By expanding the business slowly the company maintained a high standard of workmanship by employing the right people and training them to a high standard. Many of the existing workforce have been with the company for over 18 years.

The company's first clients were mainly private customers but as the company expanded clients started to include Local Authorities, Banks and good quality builders.

In the early 1980's we started working for a design company who carried out contracts nation-wide. This in turn gave us experience in undertaking varying contacts nation-wide. Some of these contracts included London Zoo, QPR Football Club, British Steel, British Bankers London, Compass Head Office, Grand Met Head Office, ASDA, Plessey, RIC and various Catering Establishments/Restaurants.

In the early 1990's due to this experience we ended up winning contracts for Rank Leisure and later Luminar Leisure. This work consisted of night-clubs, bingo halls and theme pubs such as the Jumping Jaks chains spanning locations from Aberdeen to Brighton.

Although we carry out work nation-wide we have never taken our attention away from undertaking local work as this is were our roots lie. We still carry out contract, commercial, private and local authority work. Our policy has always been to deliver a high quality of workmanship.

In 2001 we formed a partnership with ICI paints which trades under DULUX Contract Partnership. This undertakes a policy to achieve a relationship between the client, ourselves and the paint manufacturer so therefore acquiring the best working foundation to meet every problem that may arise.
